3RC EnviroStation information and map [pdf/1p]

The Division provides Winston-Salem and Forsyth County businesses an opportunity to dispose of paints, pesticides, herbicides, oxidizers, used oil, and solvents.

The Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Program is available to Winston-Salem and Forsyth County property owners 4 and 1/2 days per week by Resource Recovery and Reduction Company (3RC) located at 1401 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. There is no charge for this service. The Enviro-Station also accepts e-waste free of charge. The Enviro-Station program is only available to residents of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. Commercial, industrial or institutional e-wastes may be taken to 3RC, the contractor that runs the Enviro-Station. Please call 3RC first to see if they will accept your e-waste and at what cost.

Accepted materials include:
metal polish, oven cleaners, rug shampoos, bug sprays, rat bait, pesticides, gasoline, fuel oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, car batteries, glues, strippers, thinners, solvents, batteries, unmixed photographic materials or other poisonous, ignitable, corrosive products, motor oil and paints.

Electronic waste is accepted, including the following: computers and all associated computer parts including keyboards, mice, monitors, CPUs, printers, facsimile (fax) machines and scanners, etc.; audio-visual (A/V) equipment, including amplifiers, receivers, CD players, DVD players, VCRs, TV receivers and monitors, speakers, etc.; phones, cell and home; and large console TVs (pre-cable sets). For electronic waste not on this list, please call the Enviro-Station first to obtain approval.

Materials not accepted:
regular trash or recyclables, ammunition, explosives, radioactive or infectious materials.

 

Directions to the 3RC EnviroStation

From Highway 52 North and South, take the Stadium Drive exit. Turn left onto Stadium Drive. At the first intersection, turn right onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Travel approximately 1/2 mile and the facility is on the left across from Bowman Gray Stadium and the Hertz Rental Company.

3RC - The EnviroStation is open year-round from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, except holidays.
