Lead students getting started

Wake Forest University Students LEAD the Way in Stream Clean Ups!

Students from Wake Forest University’s Leadership, Excellence, Application and Development, or LEAD program, participated in their second annual stream clean up event on March 18. Though the weather could be at best described as “invigorating,” 51 enthusiastic young folks descended into the creek bottom of Peters Creek at Gateway Commons. Seventy-seven bags of trash, a shopping cart, tires, tire rims, bikes, lots of pipe, two IV bags, and other assorted items were removed from the Creek in about two hours. Between the SPARC program for incoming freshmen in August, and the LEAD program in the spring, Wake Forest University students are great supporters for stormwater and clean streams. We think they are just terrific!
