Bocce
Bocce Bocce is competitive and can be enjoyed by anyone of any age. The sport sharpens the reflexes and judgment. It was first introduced to Special Olympics Forsyth County athletes in the fall of 1996. At that time four athletes competed during the local and state competitions. Now 30 athletes compete annually.
The object of the game is to roll a bocce ball (similar in size to a softball) as close as possible to a pallino (the size of a golf ball). Points are given to the athlete who´s ball stops closest to the pallino. Bocce challenges the athletes judgment of distance, fitness level and their ability to strategize.
