The Highland Games continue on Saturday, May 12, from 10:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with tartan-clad athletes throwing heavy hammers, cabers, and the likes. There will be a gathering of Scottish clans, pipe and drum bands, battle axe competitions, children's events and Border collie sheep-herding demonstrations. Join us for dancing demonstrations, live music on the main stage, and exhibitors offering food and crafts.
Traditional Highland Games are once again a highlight of this year's festival. Champion Athletes come to test their strength by tossing the 100+ pound, 19+ foot caber end over end. Other events include the Clachneart, hammer throw for height, and the sheaf toss. Past Bethabara competitors include former World Champion Larry Brock.
New this year will be a Scottish Fiddle Competition.
Exhibitors will offer demonstrations and sales of traditional crafts and Celtic items.
This year's Bethabara Highland Games are sponsored in part by Kilpatrick Townsend.
