Letters of Recognition Program
|
In 2006, the Historic Resources Commission initiated a new recognition program. In an attempt to recognize the efforts of various individuals or groups who are taking up the challenge of preserving, restoring, or rehabilitating an historic or older structure in Forsyth County, the Commission has begun issuing letters of recognition for preservation projects.
Submissions are reviewed by the Commission's Education Committee and then forwarded to the full Commission. Projects can be big or small, but must demonstrate respect for the integrity of a structure, while allowing it to continue contributing to the community. In many cases the project is helping to keep the historical heritage of Forsyth County alive for generations to come.
This is just one more way the Commission is recognizing and thanking the citizens of Forsyth County for respecting and preserving not only our architectural fabric, but our historical heritage.
