West End Utility Project Update

On Sunday, Jan. 6, the contractor will begin work on a 16-inch water main on Fourth Street between Brookstown Avenue and Glade Street. Work will continue on this line, on Sundays only, throughout January. The street will be open Mondays through Saturdays.

On Monday, Jan. 7, construction will close Clover Street between West End Boulevard and Carolina Avenue. The street will be closed for about three weeks. Detours will be posted.

West End Boulevard between Forsyth and Glade streets will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 8. Also on Jan. 8, crews will begin work on Sunset Drive between First and Glade streets. Detours will be posted.

The Utilities Division is replacing aging water and sewer lines in most of the West End neighborhood. Work is expected to last through July 2008.
