Dixie Classic Fair Cracks List of Top 50 Fairs in North America

Thanks to record-setting attendance last year, the Dixie Classic Fair made the list of the 50 largest fairs in North America in 2007 as ranked by carnivalwarehouse.com, an industry Web site, based on attendance figures reported to the International Association of Fairs and Expositions.

Attendance at the Dixie Classic Fair last year jumped 17 percent to 371,219, putting it 50th on the list.

David Sparks, the director of the fair, attributed the record attendance to stepped-up marketing efforts, increased attendance from outlying counties and good  weather. "Hopefully, the folks had a good time and will tell their friends, and they’ll come back this year," Sparks said.
