West End Utility Project Update

On Monday, April 9, construction work will begin on Glade Street, between Hawthorne Road and Sunset Drive. Glade Street will be closed approximately three weeks. Detour routes will be posted.

Construction continues on Four-Half (4 ½ ) Street, between Brookstown Avenue and Broad Street; on Forsyth Street, between West End Boulevard and Sunset Drive; on Pilot View Street, between Carolina and Jersey avenues; and on Summit Street, between Fourth and Fifth streets. Detour routes are posted.

The Utilities Division is replacing aging water and sewer lines in most of the West End neighborhood. Work is expected to last through July 2008.
