West End Utility Project Update

Work on Brookstown Avenue is finished and the street is now open to traffic. Construction work on Four-Half (4 ½ ) Street, between Brookstown Avenue and Broad Street, continues. Detour routes are posted.

On Monday, April 2, construction work will begin on Forsyth Street, between West End Boulevard and Sunset Drive; and on Pilot View Street, between Carolina and Jersey avenues.

On Tuesday, April 3, construction will begin on Summit Street, between Fourth and Fifth streets. The roads will be closed approximately four weeks. Detour routes will be posted.

The Utilities Division is replacing aging water and sewer lines in most of the West End neighborhood. Work is expected to last through July 2008. For more information call 727-8418.
