Students to be Honored at 27th Annual Human Relations Awards Banquet on Feb. 22

A student from each public school in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, as well as from some private schools, will be honored during the 27th annual Human Relations Awards Banquet, scheduled for Feb. 22.

The banquet honors students who exemplify positive human relations in their dealings with others on such issues as race, religion, and cultural differences.

Mayor Allen Joines will read the Human Relations Month proclamation and there will be entertainment representative of different cultures. Wanda Starke of WXII News will be the keynote speaker.

The banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites hotel, 460 N. Cherry St. Tickets are $25 and must be purchased before noon on Feb. 22. Tickets will not be sold at the door. For tickets and more information, call the Human Relations Department at 727-2429.
