Mayor Joines and Sister Cities Board Appoint Representative to Shanghai

Mayor Joines and the board of Sister Cities Winston-Salem will hold a brief ceremony Tuesday, June 19, to formally appoint Marian M. Bell as Winston-Salem’s Sister Cites representative to Shanghai.
The ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. in the lobby of City Hall, 101 N. Main St.
Bell and her husband are moving to Shanghai in July. As a representative for Sister Cities Winston-Salem, Bell will work to develop commercial and cultural exchanges with Shanghai. In addition, the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County schools have expressed interest in working with Bell on possible exchange programs, and the owner of Noble’s Grill has asked her to explore a chef-exchange program.
Bell is the director of Marian Monsen Creative, an advertising and design agency that has created marketing materials, advertising campaigns and packaging for area businesses. Before moving to Winston-Salem in 1989 she worked in advertising and marketing in New York City.
