Police Offering Free Baby Seat Inspections

In honor of Child Passenger Safety Week, which is being observed in North Carolina this week, the Winston-Salem Police Department and Safe Kids of Forsyth County are sponsoring a free child safety seat check in the parking lot at Babies R Us, 975 Hanes Mall Blvd., on Saturday, Feb.17, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Technicians from the Winston-Salem Police Department, the Kernersville Police Department, and the North Carolina Highway Patrol will be present to install and inspect child safety seats.

McGruff the crime dog will be out to greet children, and the mobile police station and a police motorcycle will be on display.
