City to Offer Training for Small Businesses

The city’s Minority/Women’s Business Enterprise office is holding a nine-week business training program for anyone who is thinking about starting or recently started a small business.

The program will begin Oct. 12 and finish on December 14. Classes will be held Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Center on the campus of Winston-Salem State University.

Topics will include market analysis, writing a business plan, applying for financing, legal issues, bookkeeping & taxes, business insurance and more. The course will also include information on how to apply for a City loan for your business.
