Office Systems

  • The Information Systems Service Desk assists in the resolution of over 1,000 requests for assistance per month.
  • There are more than 1,500 personal computers, notebook computers, toughbooks computers, printers, and other mobile devices connected to the network.

Technical Services

  • The Technical Services group processes and supports an average of 85,000 e-mails per day.
  • They also maintain nearly 62 terabytes of data storage. If you had an iPod with equivilent storage capacity, you could download over 15 million songs.

Telecommunications

  • The Information Systems Telecommunications Staff currently supports nearly 4,000 devices including digital and analog phones and faxes, cell phones, pagers, Blackberries, and radios.
    • Currently 66% of our phones and faxes are digitally-based with a goal of reaching 100%.

Web Site Statistics

  • The City of Winston-Salem provides valuable information to citizens, employees, vendors, and governmental officials an average of 7,850 times per day via our web sites.

IT Projects

  • The Information Systems Department will successfully complete between 25 and 30 major programs/projects throughout the year.
