Urgent street closings may happen for repairs:
7/16/2010 - (UPDATE) Shattalon Dr, between Murray Rd and Bright Oak Ave, is now open to two-way traffic. However, construction continues and periodic lane closures should be expected to accommodate additional paving. Work is expected to be completed in September, 2010. The purpose of this project is to reduce traffic congestion and to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians traveling along this section of roadway. This project is being financed in part through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
8/13/2010 - Center lanes of Martin Luther King Jr Dr, at WSSU, will be closed beginning Tuesday, August 17th, to install a fence in the center median. The outside lanes will remain open for travel. The lanes are anticipated to be closed during business hours for the next four weeks.
8/18/2010 - Beginning August 18th, bridge inspections downtown will cause traffic delays as lanes are closed to allow inspectors to look a the Cherry St, Church St, Main St, Marshall St, and Spruce St bridges. Inspections will take place each day between 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. One lane of Business 40 will be closed during that time to give inspectors access to the underside of the bridge. The lane closed will change depending on which section of the bridge inspectors need to examine.
8/30/2010 - Melrose St, between Westover Dr and Parkway Dr, will be closed to through traffic. Work is expected to continue into the week of September 6th. A detour will be posted. The Utilities Dept is replacing aging sewer lines in parts of the Ardmore neighborhood. |
